The Story Behind the Stories
I’m Rita — a wedding photographer in Portugal, based in Palmela, working across Lisbon, Setúbal and all over Portugal. I photograph weddings, elopements and intimate celebrations with a bold, documentary approach rooted in emotion, presence and intention.
Before photography, I trained in cardiac physiology — a path that taught me how to observe quietly, listen deeply, and value what truly matters. But it was through the lens that I found my way back to creativity, to connection, and to telling human stories in a visceral, poetic way.
Since then, I’ve walked alongside hundreds of couples, second-shot for some of the most talented photographers in Portugal, and attended conferences like BodaF and Way Up North. I believe every love story deserves to be felt, not just seen.
This work is not just about capturing weddings and families — it’s about honouring time, creating space for truth, and showing up with my whole self.
Photography as a way to be fully present, and to give presence back.

From the moment we connect, my focus is on creating a space where you can be yourselves. Whether we’re walking through the streets of Lisbon, in the gardens of Setúbal, or surrounded by old trees in Palmela, I’m there to witness, not to interfere.
I won’t ask you to pretend or perform. I’ll guide you when needed, but mostly, I’ll let things unfold. The way your hands find each other. The way light falls on your shoulder. The laughter you didn’t plan. That’s where the real magic lives.

Every studio needs a soul — mine just happens to shed a little.
Baga is my four-legged sidekick, emotional support team, and snack security patrol. She takes her job very seriously: testing the sunlight, inspecting camera bags, and reminding me to take breaks (preferably for snuggles).
She doesn’t photograph weddings (yet), but she’s 100% part of the team. If you hear barking in the background of our calls, it’s just her giving creative direction.
